Terms & Conditions
These terms cover use of this website and the basis on which RGP Ryan Glenn Plastering provides quotes and carries out work.
1. About us
RGP Ryan Glenn Plastering is a sole trader business operated by Ryan Glenn of 20 Orchid Way, Glasgow G78 1FJ. Contact: 07795 522814 or ryan@ryanglennplastering.co.uk.
2. Quotes
Quotes are free and carry no obligation. A quote is based on the information and access available at the time it is given. If the scope changes: additional rooms, hidden damage found once a surface is opened up, or work added on site; the price will be discussed and agreed with you before that work proceeds.
3. Website content
Information on this website, including service descriptions and project examples, is provided for general guidance. It does not form a quotation or a contract. Nothing on this site should be relied on as a substitute for an inspection of your property.
4. Carrying out the work
You agree to provide reasonable access to the property, a supply of water and electricity where required, and to clear or make safe fragile items in the working area. Floors and fittings in the working area are protected as a matter of course, and waste created by the work is removed on completion.
5. Guarantee
Work carries a 1–2 year workmanship guarantee, covering defects in workmanship. In plain terms, the guarantee covers the following:
- Adhesion issues, where the plaster fails to bond as it should
- Blistering in the finished surface
- Debonding, commonly called blown plaster
- Plaster coming away from the wall
It does not cover:
- Structural movement in the building
- Cosmetic settlement cracking
- Shrinkage
- Damp or moisture caused by occupancy, such as a lack of ventilation or drying washing indoors
- Overboarding onto an existing unstable ceiling, which cannot be guaranteed because of the risk of movement behind the new boards
Drying guidance is given on handover and should be followed before decorating.
6. Insurance
£1 million public liability insurance is held and in force for work carried out. Evidence of cover can be provided on request. No accreditations or trade body memberships are claimed on this website.
7. Pricing and payment
Smaller jobs are priced per job as a fixed price. Larger projects are more often priced on a day rate, because the scope varies. There are no 'from' prices, because every job is different. Payment terms are agreed with the quote before work begins. Unless agreed otherwise, payment for completed work is due on completion. On larger jobs, staged payments may be agreed in advance.
8. Cancellation
Booked dates can be changed or cancelled by contacting us as early as possible. Where materials have already been bought specifically for your job, the cost of those materials may be payable.
9. Complaints and governing law
If something is not right, contact us first, most issues are resolved by a return visit. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
